Shopping Haul

Happy Presidents day!!
Since I just graduated from college in December it's really weird not being in school today but oh well! So I went to the mall today to look for shoes but I cannot find the ones that I want because I don’t want to spend a lot of money. What can I girl do to get a cheaper pair of shoes around here? I got a couple things and I wanted to show you them.

Express ($29.95 but today it ws buy 1 get 1 50% off) I bought the black and pink top, I am in love with the back of the shirt!! It is so amazing!

Hair pins ($1.00 each) I love the bling on them and I think these look nicer than regular brown/black bobby pins, they add a little something extra.

Makeup Monday

Hey guys,
Today I am sharing one of my favorite piece of makeup, blush. I only like wearing pink blush because I think it makes me look pretty and rosy. You guys may or may not know but I am not a fan of spending a lot of money on makeup because I think cheaper makeup is just as good as expensive makeup. However, there are 2 items including blush that I use a more expensive product, blush and mascara. So here are my 2 blushes I use day to day.

Chanel (I bought my Chanel Blush over 2 years ago so I am not sure but I looked it up and it said $45)
I know that this blush is very expensive but as you see I have had it for over 2 years so it was well worth it.

Physicians Formula ($9.00)

I hope you guys liked todays blog! What kind of blush do you guys like to use?

What to Wear...casual first date

What to Wear...casual first date

We all wonder what to wear on a date but what happens when it is a casual first date? This is a slippery slope because you don’t want to look too casual but you want him to think you look amazing in "regular" clothes, right? I'm not a big fan of showing my chest off because I have a big chest, so these outfits really don’t permit for you to show them off since they both are sweaters. (I'll make another casual date look down the road).

The first outfit it very casual and probably more for a colder spring/fall/summer date. I love the nautical striped sweater, fringed purse, and the turquoise shoes (Steve Madden’s new spring/summer sandals)! The jeans add a touch of sexiness to the outfit because of how tight they are.

The last outfit is something you wear when the weather is warmer. Since we’re really showing off the legs with the shorts, I definitely recommend covering up our upper body. I have been a big fan of animals on my clothes and I have no idea why, so this is why I picked this amazing sweater (not to mention, this shirt will make you look like an animal lover and what guy doesn’t love animals? SCORE!). This is a perfect outfit for a casual date because it’s laid back with a touch of sexy because of the short shorts! This would definitely be more of my style for a casual date.

What to Wear...dressy first date

What to Wear...first date

We all know what the first date is like; will he like me, what if there are awkward pauses, what if I have food in my teeth, and most importantly WHAT THE HELL SHOULD I WEAR? If you are like me, the last one is the one we worry about the most because first impressions mean a lot on a first date, mostly if you two haven’t met yet. This blog is giving you 2 great DRESSY first date options that you could wear on your first date...or really any fancy date.

Now I have something very important to say about how people dress. I am definitely a girl that likes to leave a little imagination for a guy. So with that, if I wear a shorter skirt, I will wear something to cover up my chest and maybe some of my arm. If I show cleavage I’ll cover my legs up (if I want to wear a skirt, I will wear tights) with pants/jeans. No one wants to look like a castmate from Jersey Shore.
Would you wear this on a date?

Celebrity Look Alike

Celebrity Look Alike

For today’s Celebrity Look Alike I have the very stylish Rachel Bilson and Kourtney Kardashian. As you all can tell I really love Kourtney Kardashian's (she is probably one of my fashion icons) style so I will definitely be featuring her in a lot of my Celebrity Look Alike's.

This particular outfit that Kourtney Kardashian is wearing is very casual and well put together. I love the jean shorts and blazer combo because it takes the normal jean shorts look up a notch. Once you add killer round sunglasses, a tiger stripe shirt, gold watch (I recommend Michael Kors), tote bag, and strappy black sandals you will be ready to start your day off right because of this put together outfit.

The next Celebrity Look Alike is one of my other fashion icons because she really knows how to put an outfit together and make it look effortless. She is wearing black skinny jeans, big white shirt, leather jacket (I recommend Michael Kors), aviators (I would wear Ray Bans), yellow/gold scarf, big brown bag, and cute brown flat (I know she is wearing heels but I would much rather wear flats).

Coconut Cupcakes

So, I have a special treat for you all today! I absolutely love baking and trying new recipes so today I made for the first time Coconut Cupcake. These were delicious and easy to make. I recommend them to anyone who likes coconut. ONLY thing that I really didn't like was the frosting, I HATE FROSTING! So I didn't frost 4.

Coconut Cupcakes
3/4 pound (3 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature
2 cups sugar
5 extra-large eggs at room temperature
1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
1 1/2 teaspoons pure almond extract
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1 cup buttermilk
14 ounces sweetened, shredded coconut

For the frosting: (I cut this in half and I still had alot of fronsting left over. If you like alot of frosting on a cupcake then just cut it in half. If you like alittle frosting then I would cut it in half again.)
1 pound cream cheese at room temperature
3/4 pound (3 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon pure almond extract
1 1/2 pounds confectioners’ sugar, sifted

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F.
In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, cream the butter and sugar on high speed until light and fluffy, about 5 minutes. With the mixer on low speed, add the eggs, 1 at a time, scraping down the bowl after each addition. Add the vanilla and almond extracts and mix well.
In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. In 3 parts, alternately add the dry ingredients and the buttermilk to the batter, beginning and ending with the dry. Mix until just combined. Fold in 7 ounces of coconut.
Line a muffin pan with paper liners. Fill each liner to the top with batter. Bake for 25 to 35 minutes, until the tops are brown and a toothpick comes out clean. Allow to cool in the pan for 15 minutes. Remove to a baking rack and cool completely.
Meanwhile, make the frosting. In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, on low speed, cream together the cream cheese, butter, and vanilla and almond extracts. Add the confectioners’ sugar and mix until smooth.
Frost the cupcakes and sprinkle with the remaining coconut.

Must Have Shoes

Must Have Shoes

One word comes to mind when I think of the words; sexy, comfortable, confident, durable, and doesn’t get tight when I gain weight. Can you guess what word I’m thinking of? SHOES! I love shoes so much and I really think there are 8 Must Have Shoes that every girl should have in their closet. Personally I am still needing to get me a good pair of nude pumps and heel boots, so let me know if you guys know of a good pair of those.
Now I would definitely keep something in mind when purchasing some of these items because I have come to the conclusion that if you can afford to spend more money on these staple and classic shoes (that will never go out of style) I definitely would invest in them.
So take a look at what my 8 Must Have Shoes are and see if you agree. Let me know if any of you think I should have added another one type of shoe or if you don’t agree with a type of shoe.

Celebrity Look Alike

Celebrity Look Alike

On today’s Celebrity Look Alike I have 2 laid back and sexy spring/summer looks. One piece of clothing I wear most in the spring/summer is jean shorts because how comfortable and cute they OH and not to mention you can show off some beautiful leg in them too!!

My first Celebrity Look Alike is a singer I actually featured yesterday in my Favorite Singer blog, Jessie James. This is another look that is from her music video “Wanted.” The best part of this outfit is the amazing high wasted jean shorts and crop top. Add colorful jewelry, simple brown belt, and cowboy boots (I am definitely not a fan of cowboy boots; probably because I’m from Chicago and not the south, so I would probably opt out of those and wear cute gladiator sandals).

Since you may not be able to see the whole outfit here is her music video “Wanted."

The next Celebrity Look Alike is Kourtney Kardashian and I just love her casual/red carpet looks so much. This is probably why I have AND will feature her in many of my Celebrity Look Alike blogs. This outfit is laid back but also stylish.  But by adding the silky shirt you can wear it in a restaurant and not feel like a hooch. When you add the big round glasses, big tote bag, brown belt, gold watch, and cute black strappy flats, you too can look like the stylish Kourtney Kardashian!!

Celebrity Look Alike

Celebrity Look Alike

Today's Celebrity Look Alike is featuring the two reality sisters, Kourtney and Kim Kardashian. These 2
girls have so much style, it’s not even fair!! I wish I had their closet for 1 day.
Let’s start with Kourtney Kardashian. I fell in love with her two toned boots when I first saw them in this picture, I had to have them. When I found out these boots were where made by Chanel, I knew they had to be well over $1000. So I was on the search for cheaper two tone riding boots and I found them. I bought the Ciao Bells two tone riding boots and let me tell you, they look identical to her Chanel boots but for $110. When you add the comfortable leggings, black t-shirt, leopard scarf, brown fedora hat (her fedora is made by Gucci), tan pea coat, and a tote bag you will look like the amazing stylish Kourtney Kardashian!

Now it is on to Kourtney's younger sister Kim. Kim is all over the media because of the reality shows, marriage, dating game, and pretty much everything and anything. This woman also has amazing style and this outfit proves that. This is a very casual and laid back outfit. I love the cargo pants with the blazer, it takes it from being comfortable and casual to chic and casual. Just add the lovely aviator sunglasses, white t-shirt, flat sandals, scarf, and big tote bag. Who wouldn't love to look like this on our lazy/casual days!!
